Pre and Type 2 Diabetes Reversal

Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) was once thought to be a lifelong, worsening disease. New research now shows that some people can achieve remission when the root causes of diabetes are treated. This has changed how we understand and manage Type 2 Diabetes.

Diabetes remission means blood sugar stays below the diabetic range (such as an HbA₁c under 6.5%) without diabetes medications for a period of time. Remission does not always mean a cure, and diabetes can return if healthy habits are not continued.

Our goal is to find diabetes early, treat the underlying metabolic problem, and help patients lower or stop medications safely when possible. While remission has been seen with weight-loss surgery and very low-calorie diets, our practice focuses on the ketogenic diet as a medical nutrition therapy to improve blood sugar control and insulin sensitivity. We have helped many patients significantly improve their diabetes and, in some cases, reach remission under close medical supervision.
